this is Vassi, the artist you met last night at Morpho Gallery. Nice drawings! Have you seen the movie "Fantastic Planet"? You will love it- check it out on youtube.
Hey Vassi - thanks so much for visiting my blog -- I went to your website, your paintings are beautiful, really touching to the soul. I recognized the music on your site; "Fantastic Planet" is one of my favorite movies. :)
How have you been? Has this summer been good to you? I miss you but I am glad you keep posting drawings. Is the "real world" sinking in yet, now that we should be starting school?
Hey Kiel -- How have you been? Do you miss school? How has your summer treated you? I miss you too! The "real world" has not sunk in .. at all. Hahaha. I think school starts today.. I'm auditing a class every monday, though, so I'll be back downtown. I've been good, just drawing/working, living life kind of slow.. but I've been riding my bike and surviving! Let me know how you've been!
Lisa you finally gave in to facebook! I just accepted you haha. I am doing well, I have been painting all summer to build my portfolio for grad school. So yes I kind of miss school but I am teaching a photoshop class at the college I went to before SAIC. It's weird because I don't know photoshop that well, yikes. I'm glad to hear your surviving and I love your sketches! What does auditing a class entail?
Ahhh facebook! I am tempted to delete it almost everyday, ha. Where are you applying for grad school? Wow, so you're teaching photoshop, that's crazy. Good luck kiellll...Thanks about my sketches! Auditing is taking a class without paying for it (hopefully, I think) - I'm taking a figure drawing class with Don Southard, a teacher I really liked last semester.
I will apply to Michigan State, Cranbrook, perhaps U of Michigan, and perhaps SAIC. I'm kinda leaning towards MSU though. Thats a good idea to audit a class if thats what it is. I really like teaching so far. I was nervous at first but my students are great.
love your drawings...MY fav movie of all time is The Nightmare Before Christmas and your drawings are very Tim Burtonesque but also entirely different....really great work!!!
Hey I came across your blog because of a link Emily Cross kindly posted on her blog. Your drawings and words really resonate with me. So, I look forward to whatever comes next.
